Virginia Stewart, Ph.D., IABC, CCEF, and NANC Certified Biblical Counselor, is the Director of HOPE Biblical Counseling & Training Center. She is also Director of the Master of Arts Program in Biblical Counseling of Trinity Theological Seminary where she is on numerous dissertation committees. She was one of the first females in the nation to become a NANC certified biblical counselor and has been counseling and teaching for over 30 years.
Dr. Maria Hansen, IABC and NANC Certified Biblical Counselor, received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1989 and subsequently was licensed in Pennsylvania and Florida. In 2004, she put her psychology license on inactive status, "because the Holy Scriptures directed me away from temporary, man-made solutions to life's problems." She then pursued biblical training and completed her certification. She has been counseling at HOPE since 2004.
Chris Minott, IABC and NANC Certified Biblical Counselor at HOPE, has been a certified Pastoral Counselor since 2001. Chris ministered as the director and curriculum writer for the high school girls' discipleship program at her church for eight years. She is a well-known speaker at Marriage, Parenting, and Pre-Marriage retreats, as well as at Women's Ministry functions. Chris also writes magazine articles on biblical principles for parenting teens.
Brenda Tyson, IABC and NANC Certified Biblical Counselor, has been involved at HOPE since 2002 and started discipling and counseling in 2004. She is a widow with two married sons and is a registered nurse.
Bob Dryden is a Financial Counselor, certified by Crown Financial Ministries. He was a Vice-President for 13 years with a "Fortune 50" multi-national company. Bob has an MBA from the University of Chicago and is an Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America.
Rev. Tom Wilcox has been a pastor for over 25 years. He has had biblical counseling training courses and has been counseling for many years.
Barbie Branson, our newest staff member, is our Administrative Assistant at HOPE. Her insights and a godly spirit help keep us organized! Barbie is married to a Youth/Education Pastor, has 2 teenagers, and lives in Cape Coral. At her home church, she assists her husband with the youth and discipleship ministry.
